the cleanest job site i'd been to all year.
backframing is complete down to the existing foundation wall and the new LVL beam installed. the new structural system rests on a temp. lolly column while we wait for the new footings to be prepped and 6x6 timber posts to arrive onsite.

a quick rendering of the rear elevation with the existing cantilevered upper deck remaining to act as an eave over the new "rear entrance" through the "garage/mudroom".
we will definitely want to mock up a few versions of the cedar slat screen with varying slat depths and spaces in between. it is almost impossible to know what works best on paper...maybe we could start with smaller scaled models.
